Oliver Benjamin Thayer was born in Oklahoma and was soon whisked away by a storm cloud of dust. He spent his youth traveling the globe with his parents, vinyl and book collectors, bouncing from Turkey, to Israel, to Italy as if no boundaries existed and time and space were a vague superstition. Briefly attending college in Vermont, Oliver was writing songs in lieu of attending classes. Drawing upon his love of Hip -hop, George Clinton, Bob Dylan, Country Western, as well as the strange and mercurial blues music he discovered through archival recordings and the collections of Harry Smith and Alan Lomax -Oliver set out on his musical odyssey. He took to the road, blowing through New York City where he squatted in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn - chasing demons through the projects and catching images for songs. He made it back to Oklahoma to meet Arlo Guthrie, found the road again and rambled around some more, landing in Colorado then Minnesota, where he became a producer and studio engineer. He now dwells in the environmental apocalypse of modern Taiwan.
