Indie Recording Artist Luanne Hunt Reaches NO. 1 on the Indie Music Folk Chart

Los Angeles - Luanne Hunt, an acclaimed indie folk and bluegrass artist, reached the No. 1 spot on the Indie Music Folk Charts www.indiecharts.com  the week of January 6 and continues to hold the position.

The Southern California resident’s recently released CD “Breaking Through” has been drawing attention from fans, critics and radio programmers worldwide. The project features eight original tunes, as well as covers of the 1772 hymn “There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood,” and the 1968 Simon and Garfunkle hit “Scarborough Fair.”

“Breaking Through” was produced by Eric Uglum (Alison Krauss, Ron Block, Cherryholmes, Nickel Creek, Sara Watkins and Ralph Stanley.)

“I was blown away by Luanne’s CD “Breaking Through,” said Peter Day, editor of the Hesperia Star Newspaper in Hesperia, CA. “Everything from the production to the song choice is first rate. It’s a project to be extremely proud of.”

Hunt began performing, writing music and building her fan base in the mid-1990’s. She sang everywhere from county fairs to coffee houses to churches. In the early 2000’s, Luanne ventured into the recording studio to produce “Lost In Your Love,” a CD of 10 self-penned Christian songs. The project garnered rave reviews from critics and fans.

“After listening to Luanne’s beautiful CD, all I can say is ‘Wow!” said recording artist Al Jarreau.

Riding on the success of “Lost In Your Love,” Hunt released four more independent CDs: “I’m So Happy,” “Moving God, Moving Mountains!” “Chapters and Verse,” and “He Was There.” Various singles from all of the projects have received airplay on radio stations in the United States and Canada. Additionally, “I’m So Happy!” has become a fan favorite on the Internet with nearly 2,500 downloads.

Hunt recently produced her first music video, “The Miracle In You,” a track on “Breaking Through.” The video is featured on the American Music Channel  www.amercianmusicchannel.com, where it reached No. 26 on the site’s Top 100 charts the week of December 16.

Biography:

WHAT MY MUSIC SOUNDS LIKE:
A contemporary mix of country, folk and bluegrass, featuring well-crafted and commercially appealing melodies. The lyrical content is positive, genuine, engaging and appealing to a diverse audience.

WHY MY MUSIC IS UNIQUE:
My music is a unique combination of country, folk and bluegrass that doesn’t sound like a copy of anything else. Everything from the vocals to the melodies to the production distinguishes my sound from other artists in the genre. At the same time, it maintains a commercial appeal and is something people connect with immediately.

WHAT I HAVE TO OFFER AS AN ARTIST:
I have always viewed music as the soundtrack of life, playing in the background of our amazing journeys. There are so many songs that transport me to a special moment in the past or provide me with inspiration just when I need it most. In my view, that’s what music was created for.

It’s my desire that my songs hold the same kind of magic and move the hearts and emotions of everyone who hears them. They are brought forth with an open, honest and uplifting spirit, intent on promoting all that’s good in the world.
