 Afterhours was formed in the mid-eighties, with John Francis on Vocals, Tim Payne on Guitar,
Martin Walls on Bass and Mark Addison on Drums.
They recorded their first album “Take Off “and released it in the UK under license to FM Revolver
and under license to BMG Ariola in Germany, where they were very popular with the German audiences.
After appearances on German TV and Radio and concerts in the Marquee in London, Sheffield
University and in Scandinavia, the Guy’s decided to work on the second album. But half way
through Martin and Mark decided to leave to pursue other projects which left Tim and John
to finish the second Album.
The 2nd Album was released through Global Records in Germany, but didn’t do as well as the first.
So Tim and John decided to call it a day.
UNTIL !!!!
One bleak winters night in February 2009 “Twenty Years Later “Tim, John and Martin met
in a pub for a beer and decided to start writing songs together again. The first single
“When you’re around” is the result of that meeting. The song is now available to buy on I tunes,
Amazon and Napster.
Afterhours are back together in the form of John on Vocals, Tim on Guitar and Martin on Bass.
The Guys would like to say to everyone who bought the First album “Take Off “ A GREAT BIG THANK YOU. Hopefully you will like the new songs because they’ve come from the heart, without any outside influence.
They are back in the studio recording a new Album which will be called “Against the Grain”. Hopefully it will be finished by the end of the year.
