A native of North Carolina, now residing in Los Angeles, Jensen Reed provides a fresh take on hip-hop today with his "melodic, alternative" style of song writing and production. Jensen’s production style features live acoustic and electric guitars, live bass, true analog synth sounds, orchestral sounds, and heavy-hitting drums. His insightful lyrics are a product of personal experience while the melodies echo his pursuit of the dream. Jensen’s live show is filled with the emotion and energy that one would expect of an accomplished performer in his prime.
In just over two years, he has performed at a number of sold out shows at large venues in L.A. including opening up for Evidence and Dilated Peoples at the Temple Bar in Santa Monica and Pigeon John at The Knitting Factory Hollywood. Jensen played a major label A&R showcase at Safari Sams in Hollywood. Labels in attendance included Capitol, Thrive, Geffen, Interscope, Def Jam, Universal, and Warner Brothers. He received overwhelmingly positive feedback on his music and performance. Most recently Jensen rocked a sold out show at the world-famous Key Club on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood opening up for Little Brother and performed at the world-famous Roxy Theatre. Two of his songs, “Bright Lights” and “Waiting in Line” can be heard in the upcoming feature film, The Messenger (2010) starring Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster.
As the shows continue to increase in size and scope so will the buzz. Armed with a contagious, genuine personality and a clean, professional style, Jensen Reed is prepared to make big moves in the biggest of cities.

Release: Jensen Reed
Los Angeles, CA - Having moved from Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Los Angeles, California over 2 years ago, Jensen Reed has used this experience in his life to jump start his music career and it seems to have worked wonders for him.
Though relatively new to L.A., Jensen Reed is no stranger to the hip-hop world. However, with his fusions of acoustic and electronic sounds, he brings a new flavor to a genre many feel is currently bland. Reed is quite the producer, as he creates all of his own beats, typically comprised of dark, heavy drums, upon which he layers his insightful lyrics. His flows and commanding stage presence have developed quite the following amongst Hollywood club-goers, and Reed has received acclaim from several A&R representatives at his previous shows. Jensen’s look, clean cut and scholarly, just might fool you, too.
In just over a year, he has performed many sold out shows at some of the largest venues along the Sunset Strip, and has opened up for Evidence of Dilated Peoples at the Temple Bar in Santa Monica. He rocked a show opener for Pigeon John at The Knitting Factory Hollywood, and just last month, Jensen performed at a major label A&R showcase at Safari Sams in Hollywood, where he received more praise. Labels in attendance included Capitol, Thrive, Geffen, Interscope Records , Def Jam, Universal, and Warner Brothers. Most recently, Jensen graced the stage at a sold out Key Club on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, where he opened for Little Brother and the world-famous Roxy Theatre.
Jensen Reed’s new single, “How It Goes”, is a sure-to-be-hit on his new CD titled, “Foot In The Door”. The theme of “How It Goes” is the classic “boy meets girl, boy falls in love”, but it’s far from predictable. The ending isn’t as picture-perfect as you anticipate. The track takes a turn when he comes to realize his girlfriend seems to be much more into her career, as often is the case in Hollywood these days. “How It Goes” is definitely a culmination of electro vocals and a smooth, dace-worthy beat.
Jensen’s album, “Foot In The Door” is due to be released by the Holidays, 2009, and “How It Goes” is already available on most major istores.
Jensen Reed is not currently on tour at this time, though one is in the works. Over the next few months, you will be able to catch Jensen Reed playing in and around the greater Los Angeles area, so check out his website for details:

“I am truly excited to have a song (“How It Goes”) that I believe is going to resonate with a large group of music fans. I also feel that this song (and full HD video for the song on my You Tube channel), is going to bring a lot of positive attention my way and once people check out the rest of my music and upcoming album, they will not be disappointed. I have a really strong collection of songs that I can’t wait to get out!”
