bgjcd Ibolya Balazs, a club owner in Danbury, CT once put it this way: "It sounded like there were five people up there playing, not just three!" When the Bryan James Gatten Band takes the stage, people pay attention. Led by guitarist Bryan James Gatten, their first CD release was 2002's "A Package From Home," which was dedicated to the U.S. Armed Forces fighting overseas. Kristan Zimmer of The Ridgefield Press wrote "...in the end, [A Package From Home] has got a lot of soul."

Their newest release is 2008's "Respectable Boy." Featuring nine original songs, the album contains all the soaring guitar playing and raucous jamming that fans have come to expect. Elements of improvisation are apparent throughout each composition. The opening rocker "Not This Time" sets the pace, proving once and for all that this is not dinner music. The album is available through the iTunes Music Store.

2010 sees the Bryan James Gatten Band bringing their sound to venues all across the Northeast, including those in New York City, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and more. Bryan James Gatten is joined by Eric Gatten on bass and Chris Brunner on drums; these musicians are the ones who put the "power" in "power trio." Playing live is at the heart of this trio, and each show brings about new surprises for both the audience and the band, courtesy of healthy doses of improvisation throughout. Each night is exciting, different, and fresh. New compositions are also being premiered at the shows as the band readies them for the next album, to be recorded this summer.
