Formed in early 2005, Magnesium Jake were brought together to create and perform music that they felt was missing from the local music scene. With influences by bands like Alice In Chains, Tool, Pearl Jam, and Faith No More, Jakes' music is an infectous mixture of bruising riffs and melodic hooks. Released in January of 2007, Magnesium Jake cut 9 tracks of pure aggressive rock and roll and have been selling copies of the self titled disk at every show.

2007 also brought Magnesium Jake a featured spot on Hartford, Connecticut's premiere rock station, 106.9 WCCC. Being featured on WCCC’s “Homegrown” series helped open new doors and allow them to open up for national acts like “Operator” and "Sugar Red Drive", as well as perform at the best live clubs in Southern New England. As 2009 comes to a close Magnesium Jake are finishing up their second full length disc for a spring 2010 release. The song writing has never been better and this collection of songs will definitely put them on the map.

Press Release:   Magnesium Jake is hard at work on their second full length album. Due out in the spring of 2010 this disc is going to feature many of the current crowd favorites like "YOU" and "Modulus of Elasticity". Stay tuned for pre release cuts off this effort.
