When he was 12 years old he met one of his greatest mentors when he moved away from my mother's house and into his dad’s: Marino de Silva. His mentor gave him his first shot by accident when he was given a movie script and was asked to write the title track. Being curious, Rob started to thumb through it obviously annoying him. Rob than took the script home and wrote a song called ‘Angel’s Freeway’ (the movie’s title). After only 6 months of "guitar lessons" Rob was signed to Rainflower Music. He played every major venue in Los Angeles before he was even a teenager, and from the ages of 13 to 23, he was jamming with legends like Toto, John Waite, Steve Lukather, and Carlos Santana, just to name a few. Rob even traveled the world, and like most guys, got into a whole lot of trouble, but of course had a whole lot of fun doing it.

Rob became a session musician, signed to a few labels, recorded at every studio from here to London, and realized that as a child sitting in his parent’s dusty garage, that rock and roll was going to be his life. And trust me it shows through in his music how amazing his life has been so far. He jammed and sat in with The Goo Goo Dolls and Chris Daughtry, got hired to play guitar for a group of famous sisters, wrote for a bunch of artists and made and lost (don't all great musicians) lots and lots of money. The one thing he never realized at that point in his music filled life was that the music business is and was just that, a business.

Now he's only 27, with the rest of his life ahead of him still touring. He is lucky to have the amazing band behind him supporting him. He has been doing it on his own for a few years now. He is really grateful to his accomplished team and those who helped him release his first EP on iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, and CD Baby nearly 2 years ago. Of course all his music was and always will be well received. He recently finished working in studio with Billie Stevens (from the band Handsome Devils and owner of Dinky music) and also Jeff Abercrombie (the bassist from the world renown band Fuel) completing an amazing album!

Rob Michaels has some important dates on his calendar. His album Fiction in My Arms has gained much attention since his CD release show at the Key Club in Hollywood on April 17th. On May 30th, he was a performer at the Dinky Acts of Kindness benefit concert, where he generously donated the proceeds from his album and merchandise sales to the sponsored charity. The single “Remember Me” was uploaded to Rob’s MySpace on June 1st and is slated for national release on June 30th. The album will be released in its entirety on iTunes on July 7th Hard copies have been available at live shows since the release party, more performance are currently being scheduled.? At only 26 years old, Rob has a lot of musical experience under his belt: a session musician, signed to more than a couple of labels, recording in studios around the world, and jamming with the likes of the Goo Goo Dolls and Chris Daughtry. Talent shines through in the passionate lyrics and dynamic guitar rifts of songs like “Lie to Me” and “I’m Back.” When on stage, even scantily clad dancers can’t detract from his connection with the audience. Having played several major Los Angeles venues by the time he was 13 years old, touring is second nature. As a session musician, Rob Michaels still gets hired out for other projects, but right now Fiction in My Arms is ready to shake the foundations of the rock and roll music market.
