Brian David has been part of the St.Paul and Minneapolis music scene for 8 years, fronting the local bands Syndicate Avenue and the alternative rock band Murge before forming his own band the Brian David Band which quickly created a signature Acoustic Stomp Rock sound backed by former drummer of Murge, The S.W. Stomp, Sean Woodward. Now the band is a full 5
piece Alternative Rock band with three new additions, including Eric Hanson on Lead Guitar, Tim Krueger on Bass and Ben Hail on Keys.
Brian has been writing since he was 15 and puts an overwhelming amount of passion in every song he writes and sings. He has written over 1000 songs and has recorded 2 Full Length Albums and 2 EP's since 2004 and just finished working on his 3rd Full Length album with the band called "There From Here" available February 6th, 2010. The band has sold thousands of downloads and has played over 150 shows in past couple of years. They were a semifinalist in the Basilica Block Party Battle of the Bands in 2007 and a finalist in the Basilica Block Party Battle of the Bands in 2009. The band has opened for National acts including Local H and Lukas Rossi (Winner of the show RockStar) as well as local greats Dazy Head Mazy, G.B Leighton, Tim Mahoney and others.
The Brian David Band sound has been described as Stomp Rock with a little Pop, Blues and Funk mixed with a deep lyrical perspective, passionate delivery and driven purposeful songs with influences from The Dave Matthews Band, Matchbox Twenty, Tonic, David Gray, Johnny Cash and 311. The canvas is Sean Woodward (S.W. Stomp) who brings a unique range of beats and special percussion to create a “Stompy Signature Sound” backed by the passionate lyrical baritone singing voice of Brian David, the catchy melodies of Eric Hanson on Electric Guitar, the jazz and funk groove of Tim Krueger on Bass and the the piano touches of Ben Hail on keys.
Their 3rd album "There From Here" is due out February 6th of 2010 featuring the songs “There From Here”, “Are You Listening”, “Momentum”, “Energy” and “Ten Steps Behind”, as well as 7 other diverse tracks.
The album takes listeners on a journey, winding through matters of the heart and mind, exploring the road that brings us "There From Here." The album’s song, "Momentum,” deals with the pace the world has set for us and us wanting or needing that extra push to get to where we want or need to be in life. The song "The Road Ahead,” touches on leaving your problems in the past and looking before you for the answers with lyrics like “In the fragments of time, I’ve forgotten what I’ve been trying to find, and all the paths I have chosen, have managed to keep me frozen in my doubts, and I can barely respond, to what I think lies beyond, just prepare for the best, in a future only I can invest.” Over the years, Brian has strived to bring his listeners to share in his belief that you can accomplish anything if you put your passion and energy into what you love. The most passionate song on the album is one entitled, "Energy," with lyrics like "Sinking my teeth in it, all my beliefs in it, the air that I breath, along with all my energy," it becomes quickly apparent how much passion and energy Brian has put into his love of songwriting.
The New Album "There From Here" was released on February 6th, 2010 and is now available on available on I-Tunes, Amazon and other internet sites.
