Aeon Zen released a debut album "A Mind's Portrait" in 2009. Noted for its catchy melodies, diverse mix of songs and styles, progressive time changes, there is something there for everyone.
It started in 2006 when Rich Hinks, with his local Cambridge musician friends, played and composed music influenced by prog rock and metal. With the friends split to various universities around the UK at age 18 it was great that one of them, Lloyd Musto was at the same university in London UK as Rich.
With a signing to Time Divide Records Ltd. (in November 2008) to release the album A Mind's Portrait, Rich notated, recorded, produced and played multiple instruments (guitars, bass & keyboards), with Lloyd on drums for this album. With the Record Company's support Rich was able to approach well respected guest vocalists to appear (Nils K. Rue of Pagan's Mind, Andi Kravljaca of Silent Call (ex-Seventh Wonder), Andreas Novak of Mind's Eye and Elyes Bouchoucha of Myrath), which blends perfectly with the quality of the production and musicianship on this album to make a must have in anyone's music collection. Mattias Norén, famous for his spectacular artwork, produced the album cover.
Rich has a contract for a 2nd Album (2010) and has put together a live band of Aeon Zen, with session musicians, with tour support from the Record Company.

Release:
TIME DIVINE (SINGLE EDIT)
Gripping vocals and a driving beat are just part of this percussive, progressive rock single which is capable of leaving fans amazed at the sheer
energy and musicianship apparent.
April 2010 is the debut of AEON ZEN LIVE, and the single edit release of the ROCK SONG ‘TIME DIVINE’ showcases the live musicians playing with Rich
and is released for the build up to his first live show on 9th April at the Luminaire in London, UK.
"I wanted the Time Divine Single Edit to give a real flavor of the AEON ZEN LIVE sound." says Rich. "Whilst the single is a studio production it
does capture the AEON ZEN LIVE sounds as its played and I hope by releasing this single it’s an easy incentive for new fans to listen in, and to
then get into the album and come and see the live show too. After London, it would be great to travel worldwide to play and the aim is to take the
show out to larger festivals.”
AEON ZEN LIVE
AEON ZEN LIVE use backline DI Line 6 PODs, Roland TD20KX drums with M48 individual IEMs and the M400 digital mixer which allows them to take ‘the
studio sound on the road’. This, apart from having great musicians, is a reason why Rich is confident of their sound. "The music is the most
important aspect of the show," adds Rich.
In addition to the Sound infrastructure, AEON ZEN LIVE uses 3 rear projection screens which add a great visual element to the show. The visuals also
use small on stage cameras intertwined with still and video images of the live musicians playing.
This single is a taster of one of the many styles of AEON ZEN.
Registered with the Official Charts Unit / National Sound Archive.Composer and Musician, Rich Hinks’ Aeon Zen debut album entitled "A Mind's Portrait" received fantastic accolades from specialist websites to UK’s
Classic Rock Presents Prog magazine and US Progression magazine, complete with Album of the Year (2009) on 3 reviews which made the A Mind’s
Portrait album a ‘must have’ in any collection says such press. Its diverse styles and technical playing make it suitable for all tastes and
moods.
Time Divine features on the A Mind’s Portrait album sung by Nils K Rue of Pagans Mind. The Time Divine Single Edit features Andi Kravljaca (Vocals)
of Silent Call, and UK's Matt Shepherd (Guitar solo) to reflect the sound of Aeon Zen Live.
Musicians joining UK’s Rich Hinks (Bass) for AEON ZEN LIVE are from Sweden, Andi Kravljaca (Vocals); Silent Call, Matt Shepherd
(Guitar) and Mike Lennon (Drums) ex-UK’s Timefall and now UK based Cristian Van Schuerbeck (Keyboards); US - All Too Human.
