Cat Forsley is a multi-talented Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, poet and a committed love activist. She was born in Ottawa, Canada but grew up abroad and traveled extensively as a child. Her father's work with the Canadian Consulate required her family to move several times during her childhood. At age 6 she moved to Hong Kong, at 9 she relocated to Boston, MA, and at 14 she returned to Ottawa where she attended high school. Her parents encouraged her to become well read, listen to classical music, attend the opera, and to appreciate what is beautiful and important in the world.

Cat began singing and playing piano at a very young age. She continued pursuing music throughout her childhood and learned to play the guitar and flute, sang in choirs and choral groups, learned to sight read, and began classical voice training during 8th grade in Boston. She is fluent in French and English and can sing in French, English, Spanish, and Latin.

She began performing live in her late teens in various cities in Canada and self-produced her first album "1% ANGEL' around that time. She received a FACTOR Grant and recorded her second album 'Before His Eyes There Was Nothing' at Sound of One Hand Studio in Ottawa, Canada. Her third album 'Space Could Save Us' was recorded and produced in Toronto under the band name 'Twinn'. In April, 2010 Cat signed a multi-year, multi-album deal with Bombardier Records located in Phoenix, AZ. Her latest release 'Unconditional' showcases her talent as a singer/songwriter and will be distributed worldwide by Bombardier Records.

Cat's musical style has been influenced by many wonderful musicians and talented artists. To name a few:

Stars, Bjork, The Weepies, Sting, U2, Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews, Alexi Murdoch, Lenny Kravitz, Snow Patrol, Beethoven, Madonna, Coldplay, Mozart, Debussy, Foo Fighters, Massive Attack, Alanis Morrisette, and many others.

Her singing style has been compared to: Stars, The Sundays, Sneaker Pimps, The Weepies, Bjork, etc.

Cat's talent doesn't end with music. She is also a model and has played parts in feature length films and commercials. She had a small part in the film 'Gossip' with Kate Hudson, has interviewed Alanis Morrisette on Much Music as a fax correspondent, and was featured in an Australian beer commercial. Cat is interested in composing scores for feature films, jingles for television, and creating videos and music for humanitarian causes.

Cat is also a writer and has written several books.

Cat lives a quiet life in Toronto, Ontario where she creates music, writes, and corresponds using her Apple Macbook Laptop. She considers herself a heart philanthropist, love activist, and wishes to improve the world through her art and actions.

She was born with ocular albinism, a genetic condition which affects her sight. Cat has 20/400 vision, which is considered legally blind. Cat has adapted very well to the many challenges this has caused in her life and she stands strong and tall as an inspiration to others. She believes that you can achieve anything in your life as long as 'You believe in Your Dreams and Your talents.'

Cat wishes to be a champion for the blind and is involved with several organizations in Canada and around the globe.

Canadian singer songwriter Cat Forsley endorses CNIB and brings awareness and support to people with vision loss

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 29, 2010 – Canadian singer/songwriter Cat Forsley has decided to donate a percentage of sales revenue from her latest EP ‘Unconditional’ and her new audio book ‘All Love &’ to CNIB. CNIB provides community-based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life.

Cat Forsley, who was born with a genetic vision disability, became a member of the organization last year. She has struggled with limited vision her entire life, but has adapted and overcome the challenges associated with blindness, and she wishes to become a champion for people with vision loss. “CNIB is a fantastic organization and I’m very passionate about bringing awareness, financial support, and hope to the many members who receive assistance from CNIB. My dream is to become a spokesperson and to become more involved with their outreach programs that involve music”, Says Forsley.

One of the many CNIB programs that caught Cat’s attention is ‘The i Factor contest’, which involves musicians and singers with vision loss from across Canada. Ten finalists will participate in professional training sessions and compete for a spot in the spectacular live finale in Toronto, Ontario.

Cat signed a multi-year, multi-album deal with Bombardier Records in 2010 and her latest EP is being distributed worldwide. Chris Gardner, President of Bombardier Records said “We are extremely pleased to be donating to CNIB and fully support Cat’s involvement with this great organization.”
