Laura Yeh, Ocarina
As a folk musican, Laura performs on both fiddle and ocarina. She received her musical training at the University of Illinois where she completed a Bachelor’s of Music in Violin Performance. Although most of her formal musical training is in Classical violin, Laura has also studied Irish fiddle and Baroque violin. Her violin recordings are included in the discography of the Anthology of Baroque Music published by W. W. Norton. Along with her husband Dennis, Laura directs the St. Louis School of Music and teaches violin, fiddle, and ocarina.
Dennis Yeh, Violin
Dennis has performed numerous recitals in the United States and Australia and many of his performances have been nationally broadcast in Australia. He has also performed as a soloist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Sydney, Australia. Dennis pursued his musical training at the Sydney Conservatorium, Indiana University, and the University of Illinois and has three degrees in violin performance, including a Doctorate of Musical Arts. In addition to performing and teaching, Dennis is the director of the St. Louis School of Music and St. Louis Ocarinas.
Ruby Lai, Piano
Ruby received her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University School of Music. She has maintained an active performing schedule, playing solo piano recitals all over the world including Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, St. Petersburg, and Taipei. She was the director of Seed Piano Ensemble and performed chamber recitals at the National Recital Hall in Taipei. Ruby has also collaborated with renowned vocalist Joanne Dorenfeld on a CD recording released in 2003. In 2005, Ruby produced a CD recording of her own piano arrangements of the works of renowned Taiwanese songwriter Guang-yu. In addition to performing, Ruby teaches piano at the St. Louis School of Music.
