The Waking was formed in early 2004 when John Kronenberger recruited Kurt Preus to fill in for a couple shows for his falling-apart band. After the shows were complete they just never stopped jammin. It took some time to complete and solidify the rest of the line-up. Eventually Mike Wooly and Pat Neary became the missing pieces. In May of 2007 Kurt left the band and Tom Bruzan was brought in to complete the line up.

The Waking are featured on a internationally distributed paintball DVD ( episode 42) through Traumahead Sportz, which can be viewed at www.traumaheadsportz.com  and have also been featured on a DVD release by DERDER (www.derder.com) .

The Waking have received many great reviews and work hard to create the best music they are capable of. With many dynamics attributing to their writing style there are few boundaries. "All bands say they are the best live band around, we just try to have a good time and assure that everyone who comes out to see us also has a good time. Hopefully the word spreads and more people come out to our shows. No matter what we`re havin fun. We spend too much money on alcohol not to!"

Press Release: Taxi
Thanks for sending in such a blasting of Metal furry ... I was immediately pulled in by the guitar tones and precision syncopation of the drum track entrance. I hear a bunch of cool influences going down here, from the emotional nuances of the Deftones to the visceral purging of Tool. Bottom line is I'm down with The Waking!
